We had a great Fourth of July this year. We started off by going to my parents cabin in Oakley. My family always goes to the Oakley parade and we were planning on it but Naomi became really sick with pink eye, sore throat and a skin infection around her eye. So, we didn't make the parade. But, once we got there we all piled into the enormous motor home my dad rented and drove down to Provo for Stadium of Fire. We ate at the Brick Oven and then parked the motor home in front of some guys house which was literally right behind the stadium. Since we had about four hours until the concert started we laid on blankets and listened to Miley Cyrus practice and then the Blue Man Group. I desperately tried to get Naomi to take a nap but that wasn't happening since there was so much going on. Blue Man Group and Miley were great! Naomi loved it, even though she was beyond tired from not taking a nap. She did take a ten minute nap at about 9:30 at night! When the fireworks came she was freaked out at first. But, by the end she was okay. By the time we got out of all the traffic and drove back to Oakley it was 1 a.m. Long day but really fun!

Well, these are the last of the pictures from our trip to California. Every summer we go to Balboa Island and stay at the Jacobsen's home on the island. We love going down there. It's so much fun. We pretty much beach it on the days were not at Disneyland ect.. The house is three houses from the beach so we walk down there alot. There are no waves there so it's great for Naomi. Sometimes we take the ferry over to Newport Beach or drive to another beach like Corona Del Mar. Some like to body board . Naomi was totally afraid of the waves so she wouldn't get near the water at those beaches. Hopefully next year she'll try the water. We also take the boat out and check out the sea lions layin' around on the buoy. Naomi got a kick out of that. Each night we would walk down to the main street on the island and get an ice cream. Frozen bananas are popular but I've never gotten one! We also take walks around the island along the boardwalk and look at all the fun houses. Naomi was obsessed with walking from the house to the beach and back. We had a great time this year and I'm already looking forward to the next time. Until then.
